In recent years, IIMs have been looking for diversity in the batch and you pursuing CA will also aid you in this. The gap year directly doesn't effect your application process, but it will affect you in the interview process. You need to be able to justify it well in the interview process for consideration. And since you have very good extracurricular achievements, if you are able to base your answer on highlighting your achievements and showing you didn't waste those two years, you will definitely be considered for admission. DSE is considered as one of the best ROI colleges in India for MBA. It has a fee of Rs. 1 lakh, and the average package for this year was nearly Rs. 13.50 lakh. So it is a pretty good college. Since you are sure of joining MDI next year, you can do some courses related to MBA this year, which can help you with your future MBA education or increase your work experience, which will be quite helpful in your MBA college, or you can join DSE, which is also a good choice if you can get the most out of it. Will joining DSE add any value in my profile considering summer internship or studies or should I focus on CAT again and try aiming better colleges than MDI Gurgaon. ( I have left my job)
